ChiTek-i Story
Analysis, research, and advisory consultation, planning the execution of complex and innovative projects, in the areas of science, technology, systems, and public outreach. We select challenges from around the globe, assessing their impact, technically, socially, and humanely, to find next generation solutions, in both public and private sectors. Through our work, we put the big picture into context, translate complex ideas into executable plans, and build team knowledge at the leading edge of technology, communicating through all forms of creative media.
ChiTek-i offers guidance and formalisation, applying a design methodology to build certainty, and help avoid costly mistakes. We coach teams to see the big picture, balancing the goals of institutional learning, efficiency, resilience, scale, and operational safety. In place of analyst reports, we propose overviews, solutions, narratives, and principles for scoping, planning, and the designing of systems as group. No single hire needs to be a specialist in all things.

Why ChiTek-i?
Expertise. Intuition. Ingenuity.
ChiTek-i was founded by Mark Burgess, information physicist, principal Founder of CFEngine, and Emeritus Professor of Computer Science from the Metropolitan University of Oslo, known particularly for his work on Configuration Management, Promise Theory, as well as numerous books and publications.
Even the largest organizations struggle to keep abreast of the core principles behind new technologies. The result can be ad hoc project choices, driven by popular trends, and unmet expectations. Project plans need the guidance of systemic experience and an impartial eye on all of the moving parts, while paying attention to team chemistry, and the keeping of serviceable promises to all stakeholders.
A technologist, scientist, advisor to public and private organizations, author, founder and original architect of CFEngine, international technology advisor, and public speaker.
